Getting here from Tirana International Airport

Taxis wait immediately outside arrivals and the fare into the city is set by the rank rather than metered, so agree it before you get in. There is one dual carriageway into town and traffic is the only variable: 25 minutes is realistic outside the peaks, and closer to forty if you land into the morning or evening rush. A scheduled bus also runs between the airport and the centre for a fraction of the taxi fare, and it stops within the central walking area.

Tell us your flight number when you book. If it is delayed we usually see it before you do, and we will move the appointment rather than let you arrive to a closed door. If you would rather not organise the transfer yourself, say so when you confirm and we will arrange a car to meet you.

Arriving from Durrës, the coast or the Bari ferry

The overnight ferry from Bari docks at Durrës in the morning, and Durrës to Tirana is about forty minutes by car. Passengers off the morning boat routinely make a late-morning appointment the same day, which is why it is the route most patients who prefer not to fly end up using. From the northern beaches at Durrës and Golem the centre is under an hour. From further south the drive is longer: Vlorë is half a day and Sarandë or Ksamil closer to five hours, so treatment for anyone holidaying that far down the coast is planned as a night in Tirana rather than a there-and-back day. Walking from your hotel

Central Tirana is small and flat. Most visitors stay along the boulevard or within a few minutes of Skanderbeg Square, and the walk from one side of the centre to the other takes about twenty minutes end to end, which puts us inside walking distance of nearly every central hotel. Send a message when you set off and someone will be at the door.

If you are taking a taxi or a ride-hailing app, use the map pin from your confirmation rather than typing an address: Albanian street numbering is not always followed and a pin removes the argument. If a driver still cannot place it, call +355 69 691 1118 and hand him the phone. Two minutes of Albanian on speakerphone beats ten minutes of circling the block.

Parking, and arriving by car

Parking in the centre is limited and largely paid on-street, which is a nuisance for anyone driving in from outside the city. Tell us in advance that you are coming by car and parking is arranged for you, so you are not looking for a space with a surgical appointment in ten minutes. Patients driving up from the coast should also allow for the last two kilometres inside the city taking longer than the fifty before them.

Opening hours and how the day is arranged

We work Monday to Saturday, 08:00 to 18:00. Surgical appointments are placed early in the day so that you can be seen again, or at least reached, before we close. Longer prosthetic appointments, where a crown or a bridge is tried in and adjusted, are booked with a gap after them, because the laboratory is in Tirana and a shade or a contact point can be corrected the same afternoon rather than at the next visit. That is the practical argument for a clinic in the centre rather than on the ring road: the laboratory, the hotels and the surgery sit inside the same short triangle.

Can I just walk in?

If there is a gap in the diary, yes. For anything involving surgery, a crown or a CBCT scan, book instead: those appointments run an hour or more and the diary is usually full a few days ahead. If you are flying in specifically for treatment, do not rely on a walk-in at all, because the point of the written plan is that your days in Tirana are fixed before you buy the ticket.

How long does the taxi from the airport really take?

25 minutes is the off-peak drive. Allow forty to fifty if you land between 08:00 and 10:00 or between 17:00 and 19:00, and the same on a summer Friday evening when the coast road feeds back into the city. Going the other way, leave us ninety minutes before departure on top of whatever check-in time the airline asks for.

How do I know exactly where to go?

Is there anyone at reception who speaks my language?

Reception speaks Albanian, English, Italian and Spanish. Your consultation is held in the language you booked in rather than through an interpreter brought in for the day, and the written plan you receive afterwards is in that same language.
